Volunteer

The MIT Club of Northern New Jersey is entirely run by volunteers, and the club can always use a few more extra hands. We are always looking for alums who enjoy the camaraderie of the MIT connection, people like us, and who love to work with others on a collegial/collaborative/volunteer basis for fun, and personal and professional growth. There are many ways in which you can help, and the amount of time you spend is entirely up to you. This page contains a listing of specific areas in which the club can use help and is updated periodically. If any of these areas interest you, please send an email to one of the club officers or click on the Contact Us link at the top of the page.

Event Ideas. The club is always looking for new activities to engage the local alumni population. Do you have an idea for an event that you believe would attract an interested group of alumni? Please share it with any of our officers. The board will work with you to plan the event and bring it to fruition.

Speaker Contact. The club is always looking for good speakers. Do you know someone who could speak about a topic of interest to the alumni community? You only need to provide the introduction, and the club can plan the event. (Please note that we do not pay speaking fees.)

Website. Our new website platform gives us many new capabilities that we didn’t have before. Now that the club website has all the basics, it’s time to start thinking about how to expand it. The club could use some help both in planning and implementing added website functionality to better serve the alumni community.

Your Choice. Perhaps you have identified an area where you think the club could use some help, and you are willing to pitch in. Please let an officer or board member know what you have in mind so you can join the club’s volunteer team.
